Garden Waste Initiative – System Change

Dear All,

We have sent a letter dated 5 October last week, to a section of our garden waste service subscribers asking for email addresses so that we can advise them to renew online next month. A copy of the letter is attached.

Whilst we have had quite a few responses back with email addresses, we have also had some responses where the resident cannot renew online and have asked for an alternative option. Taking that in to consideration we have outlined the process and options below.

We will be emailing and writing to (where email addresses are not available) all garden waste subscribers at the end of this month (October 2017) to renew their subscription online, as the system will be live and ready then to accept bookings. It is an easy, quick and user friendly process and the majority of subscribers have already renewed online last year. We will also offer the facility to sign up for a Direct Debit for the following year 2019 collections and thereafter. If the Direct Debit is set up all future renewals will happen automatically.

As an exception if we have elderly and/or vulnerable residents who are unable to renew online and cannot take up the options of using public access computers or help from family and friends, they will be able to renew over the phone by making a payment by debit or credit card, from the end of this month. The phone number to contact us in such circumstances is 01453 754424. The lines are open Mon-Thurs 0845-1700 and Fri 0845-1630.

In order to encourage users to renew online early, so that they can have collections right from the start from February 2018 we will have a renewal deadline of the 3 Dec 2017. The facility to renew will still be open after that if for any reason customers are unable to renew by the deadline.

UPDATE…

Further to our invitation for all residents of the Fretherne with Saul Parish to let us know your views and offer feedback on how you would like to see the council perform and area’s you feel we should work on to improve our community.

The results are in and you can now view what the community has asked us to do, please continue to engage with the Parish Councillor’s on all matters that you feel are important for our community and do not hesitate to contact us.

Fretherne with Saul Parish Council wish to produce a new Parish Plan, taking into account the views of the whole community. The first step is consultation, part of which is this questionnaire, the cost of which has been part-funded by Gloucestershire Rural Community Council. All your responses will be treated in confidence.

Once we have the survey forms back, we will collate all the responses and comments made and draw conclusions and recommendations to include within a new Parish Plan. This will be used to focus the objectives for the Parish Council for the next four years and ensure it is representing your views and focussed on your needs.

Please place the completed survey within the ziplock bag in which it was delivered and leave it by your door for collection on 2nd or 3rd January.

If you were not able to compete by this time but would still like to submit your response, please post the survey to the Parish Clerk, Geraldine Delbos, at Fairhaven, High street Saul ( the Bungalow on the right hand side of the entrance driveway to Saul Memorial hall) but please post before 10th January.
